Chistine Ann Zurat (Moorhead) - Class Of 1950 VIEW PROFILE

Chistine Ann Zurat (Moorhead)

Christine Ann (Zurat) Moorhead

Oct. 16, 1931 - Sep. 7, 2014

NILES - After a long battle with cancer, Christine left us peacefully, survived by her son, Tod Moorhead (Niles) and half-brother, Wayne Palmiter (South Bend). Widowed, she was married for 30 years (1954-1984) to Leslie Moorhead (deceased, 1984).

A graduate of Washington Clay (South Bend) in 1950, she enjoyed cheerleading and gymnastics, using her athleticism to win numerous 1st place medals at competitions in Chicago. She was employed at Bill Knapps restaurant (South Bend) for 11 years (1987-98) and built many friendships during those years that still remained strong.

She also enjoyed baseball, attending many of her son's baseball and softball games, where many players came to know her as the "Team Mom". She was a Hello Gorgeous nominee in 2012 and humbly enjoyed the pampering. Her charisma and kindness was felt by all who met her; her upbeat and positive attitude was unblemished even during her last days. For all hearts that she touched, she truly was a treasure.

A celebration of life service will be held for Christine at 7 p.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Hoven Funeral Home in Buchanan, with viewing from 4-9 p.m.. Online condolences may be made at www.hovenfunerals.com.
