SOUTH BEND - Kayla Marie Black, 26, passed away peacefully Thursday at her residence. She was born in Jacksonville, North Carolina, to David Charles and Joni Christine (Drown) Black, who both survive of South Bend.

Those left to cherish her memory along with her parents are her three children: Alyssa, age 6, Abigail, age 5, and Nicholas, age 3, all of South Bend; her two sisters, Ashley Mdalaleh of Goshen, IN, and Kelly Black of Irving, TX; her brother-in-law, Mike Mdalaleh, & niece, Leena, age 7 months, both also of Goshen, IN; maternal grandfather, George Drown of Michigan; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Preceding her in death were her maternal grandmother, Joan Drown of Galien, MI, and paternal grandparents, Harrison and Carol Black of South Bend. Kayla was a 2006 graduate of Clay High School and received her nursing degree in 2010 from Brown Mackie College. She was a loving mother, daughter & sister.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Tuesday at the McGann Hay Funerals | Cremations | Gatherings, University Chapel, 2313 E. Edison Rd. near Ironwood, followed by a memorial service at 7 pm, with Senior Associate Pastor Collin Seitz of Crossroads Evangelical Free Church, Plymouth, IN, officiating. Graveside services and burial will be at 3 pm Wednesday at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Buchanan, MI. Memorial donations may be made to any charity in her memory.
