SOUTH BEND - Susan R. (Binder) Hooley-Campbell, 56, of South Bend, passed away at 3:40am Wednesday at her home. She is the daughter of Frederick A. (Terri) Binder Jr. and the late Mary Ann E. (Wagner) Binder, born on Sept. 18, 1955, in South Bend, IN.

Susan graduated from Clay High School in 1973. Her husband and best friend of 17 years, Robert W. Campbell (Otis), survives her. Susan always put her family and friends first. She loved organizing family gatherings and never missed a birthday or lost touch with those who were important to her. She enjoyed boating, fishing, and sitting on the sand bar at Camp Wildwood on Juno Lake in Edwardsburg. She worked at Lesco for 17 years and at Center Plate Catering. She enjoyed arts and crafts and loved playing with her dog, Ellie Mae. Susan was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Fred A. Binder III and sister-in-law, Kathy (Porter) Binder.

She is survived by her three children and two step daughters: Dan Hooley (Natalie Smith) of South Bend, Doug Hooley (Heather Rzeszewski) of South Bend, Mandi (Lane) Kaufmann of Goshen, Jessica Campbell of Tampa, FL and Chelsey (Michael) Trondle of Dana Point, CA. She is also survived by her four siblings and four step-siblings: Mary Ann (Scott) Horner of Lakeville, Bob Binder (Sharon Terry), John Binder of South Bend, Mikel Binder (Sheila Harness) of Elkhart, Joan Zavislak, Jean (David) Stark, and Patrick and William Hinkle, of South Bend; as well as 18 nieces and nephews, 21 great nieces and nephews and her "grandbabies" G-Bow and Cinder.

A visitation will be held 2-5 pm Saturday and from 2-3 pm Sunday followed by a Memorial Service at 3 pm all at McGann Hay Funerals | Cremations | Gatherings, Granger Chapel, 13260 SR. 23 (enter off Cherry Rd.). In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to the Center for Hospice Care, 111 Sunnybrook Ct., South Bend, IN, 46617 or to Pet Refuge, 2300 W 6th St., Mishawaka, IN, 46544.
