SOUTH BEND - Donn "Donnie" Singleton, 62 years old, left this earthly home Friday, August 7, 2009. He will join his family & friends that went before him, including both of his parents Donald "Stubby" Singleton and Gertrude "Penny" Connor (Robbins).
Donn was born in South Bend, Indiana where he lived the first half of his life until moving to Florida.

Donn was very charming, loved & admired by everyone he met. He had a great laugh & a smile that would light up a whole room. He always made a point to say or do something to make you feel special when you were with him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His entire life, Donn was very active in team sports such as football, baseball, softball and bowling. Donn especially loved bowling and was a very accomplished bowler in the South Bend area and also in Florida. He achieved the prestigious goal of the 'Perfect 300' game.

Donn graduated from Clay High School and then served his country in the United States Army after which he became an Officer of the South Bend Police Department.

After moving to Florida in the late 70's, he enjoyed a management career with Penske and later with SNL. His logistics management career accomplishments, led him to his most recent position for Panera Bread. He loved his job and his line of work. Donn resided in Viera, Florida, with his wife Marysabel.

Donn had two sons whom he was very proud of, Christopher (Cindy) of Georgia and Michael (Margaux) of Texas. He loved and cherished his four grandchildren, Natasha, Michael, Gavin and Garrett. He came from a family of eight children who always looked up to him. Surviving are Terry (Joan) of California, Greg (Sandra) of Georgia, Jeff (Roxanne) of California, Sherri of Mishawaka, Brian of California, Cathy (Tom) of South Bend & Nancy of Mishawaka. Also surviving are his stepmother Roseanne Singleton of Mishawaka and his stepfather, Arthur Connor of LaPorte. Donnie was the "favorite" uncle to his many nieces & nephews. They looked forward to spending time with him at the "Singleton Tradition" family reunion, hosted by his cousin Tommy Singleton in South Bend. He will be dearly missed at the upcoming reunion this October, where his life will be celebrated by his family & friends.

Donn will be laid to rest in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens alongside his beloved mother. A memorial mass will be held in his honor at Little Flower Catholic Church with an October date to be announced.
