PAUL H. GERARD

PAUL H. GERARD, 92, passed away on Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.

Born in Mishawaka, Ind., he was an Industrial Arts teacher at Washington Clay High School, South Bend; Principal of Huntertown High School; and Guidance Coordinator for Northwest Allen County Schools.

He was a member of Huntertown United Methodist Church; Indiana State Teacher's Association; Phi Delta Kappa; Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity; 54 year Master Mason; Veterans of Foreign Wars; Indiana Senior Men's Golf Association; and the Consulting group of the Kitchen Table in Huntertown. He was also a graduate of Reppert School of Auctioneering.

He was a World War II veteran in the 4th Division and was one of the soldiers that landed on D-Day on Utah Beach.

Surviving are his wife, Olive A. Gerard of Fort Wayne; sons, Daniel C. Gerard of Fort Wayne and Scott (Cate) Gerard of Urbana, Ill.; grandsons, Michael, Kevin and Ryan; step-granddaughter, Rachel; and brothers, Donald "Bud" (Mary) Gerard and Gerald (Joan) Gerard, both of Mishawaka.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Virgia Gerard; son, Gary Gerard; and sister, Ruth Miller.

Service is 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at Huntertown United Methodist Church, 16115 Lima Road, with calling one hour prior. The Rev. Greg Hiatt officiating. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road. Burial in Huntertown Cemetery.
