SAMUEL RICHARD GRIGGS

SOUTH BEND - Sam passed away peacefully at home with his wife of 31 years at his side after a very long battle with COPD and Alzheimer's Disease.

He leaves behind his wife, Stephani Griggs, and 3 children from a previous marriage, Samuel M. Griggs, Teresa Wyne and Corrina Laughman, along with 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Sam attended Washington/Clay High School where he played his favorite sport of football. He worked at Wheelbrator/Fry until it closed. He then worked at Wheelhorse, where he assembled tractor transmissions until it was sold. He then worked at Sharer Gear Works until he retired due to illness.

He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Griggs, his mother, Roselee Brewington, a sister and a brother. Per Sam's request, there will be no services or visitation. Elkhart Cremation Services is entrusted with arrangements.
