SOUTH BEND - Ramon Jeremiah Hamilton, 22, who resided on Sussex Drive, South Bend, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2011, in South Bend, Indiana. Ramon was born August 26, 1988, in South Bend, Indiana, to Sonya R. (Buckingham) Stevens and James Hamilton.

He graduated from Clay High School in 2007 where he played varsity football. He attended Ivy Tech College, majoring in Culinary Arts. He was a member of New Horizons Outreach Ministry. His hobbies included cooking, bike riding, swimming, karate, football, playing the drums and rapping.

Ramon was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Roosevelt and Ernestine Hamilton; maternal great-grandparents, Woodrow and Macy Stevens, Levester and Birder Buckingham Sr.

Survivors left to cherish Ramon's memory include his mother, Sonya R. Stevens, his father, James E. Hamilton Sr., both of South Bend; a brother, James E. Hamilton Jr. of Michigan City, IN; his maternal grandparents, Levester and Lue Buckingham Jr.; his aunt, Yolanda (Eric) Dokes; three uncles, Levester Buckingham III, Raymond Buckingham and Carlos Buckingham; his very special friend, Ashley Taylor, all of South Bend; along with many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Ramon Jeremiah Hamilton will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2011, in New Horizons Outreach Ministry, with burial following at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the church.
