PHYLLIS J. (BROWN) HINTON

TELL CITY – Phyllis J. Hinton, 80, passed away Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015, at St. Mary's Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 12, 1934, in Clay County, W.V., daughter of the late Alva and Pansy (Moore) Brown.
Also preceding her in death were a son, Daniel Wesley Hinton; sisters Jeanette Legg and June Bauer; great-grandson Tyler Zoglman and stepgreat-grandson Keagan Overstreet.

Phyllis was a 1952 graduate of Clay High School. She was united in marriage to Owen Wesley Hinton June 27, 1955, at First Baptist Church. Phyllis was a member of First Baptist Church and past member of Perry County Hospital Auxiliary and Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed tending her flower gardens and working in her yard and home.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Owen W. Hinton; daughter Rebecca Holloway and sons Rodney and Phillip Hinton, all of Tell City; sisters Lila Daniels of Rockport, Barbara Maynus of Fayetteville, W.V., Drusilla Harris of Danese, W.V., Leah Joan Douglas of Blair, S.C.; brother Aaron Brown of Evansville; 10 grandchildren, Brandi Fetcher, Nicole Hinton, Renae Thompson, Illia Leibering, Jacob Lindauer, Seth Lindauer, Tiffany Gilmore, Kristen Harris, Angela Voyles and Wesley Hinton; six stepgrandchildren, Jennifer Glynn, Cullen Scott, Uriah Scott, Hollie Perry and Heather Overstreet and Leesa Holloway; 13 great-grandchildren; and 10 stepgreat-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. The Rev. Dan Hopkins will officiate. Visitation is scheduled from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and from noon until service time Monday.
