COURTNEY LACHAD KIMBLE

SOUTH BEND - The day Courtney LaChad Kimble, 21, of Lathrop Street, was called home to God, heaven must have been missing an angel. On Thursday, September 11, following a lifelong illness, he answered heaven's call. Courtney was born May 5, 1987, in South Bend, Indiana. His parents are Dena Loyd and Carey (Darlean) Kimble.

Courtney graduated from Clay High School in 2005 and was a member of Ardmore Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, Courtney's memory will be cherished by one beloved sister, Chynna Doaks; two beloved brothers, Carey Kimble Jr. and Stephan Tinsley, all of South Bend; a special sister, Natalya Hill of Indianapolis, IN; a special brother, Kenneth Hill of Mishawaka, IN; two grandfathers, Charles (Lois) Kimble "Papa" and Kenneth Harper of South Bend; two grandmothers, Geraldine Nailon of South Bend and Samella Harper-Jones of Buchanan, MI; a special cousin, Dialo Williams; along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Curtis Cutler (cousin) made Courtney his child's godfather, Daijha Cutler.

Courtney was preceded in death by a grandmother, Francis Kimble, and two grandfathers, Perotha Loyd and Demetrious Hill.

Courtney was a die-hard Notre Dame fan and an avid tailgater at most of Notre Dame's home games with his dad, family and close friends. His tailgater family will miss him greatly. Courtney loved wrestling and enjoyed playing his video games. He was the child that we were blessed with that had a smile that lit up the world, and that light from his smile has taken him to the end of his journey. Rest My Child, Rest.

Funeral services for Courtney will be held at noon in the Ardmore-LaSalle Church of Christ, 5550 Moss Road, South Bend, with Pastor Hardy Blake officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Friends may call this evening from 5 to 7 p.m. in Alford's Mortuary where arrangements have been entrusted.
