MARY JO (CROWEL) LAMIRAND 

Jan. 17, 1918- Feb. 25, 2009
GRANGER - Mary Jo (Crowel) Lamirand, 91, died at 12:05 p.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2009 in Arborwood Living Center. Mary Jo was born on January 17, 1918 in Rochester, Indiana, the second child of Joseph H. and Merrie Z. (Ellis) Crowel, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was her husband Arden S. Lamirand, whom she married in Mishawaka, on September 29, 1951. Also deceased are her two brothers, Donald and Robert Crowel, and nephew, Robert Crowel.

Surviving is a brother, James S. (Betty) Crowel of Mishawaka, and numerous nieces.

As office manager, she retired from the ASCS (government civil service) after 35 years of service. Mary Jo was a graduate of Washington Clay High School, an active member of American Legion Auxiliary Posts 50, 284, and 303, Moose Lodge #599 in Elkhart, and Howard Park Senior Citizens.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Arborwood Living Center for their outstanding care for Mary Jo during her stay.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 2 in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 17033 Cleveland Rd., with Pastor Jeff Reese of Hope United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Saint Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 1 till 5 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
