RICHARD L. LARRISON

Apr. 18, 1936 - Jan. 25, 2012 SOUTH BEND - Richard L. Larrison, 75, of South Bend passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2012 in Memorial Hospital following an Illness. He was born April 18, 1936 in Mounds, IL to the late Lester R. and Mary H. (Mize) Larrison. Also preceding him in death was a son Charles B. Larrison. On August 6, 1955 in South Bend he married Donna Lee Thomas who died in 1972.

On November 20, 1976 in South Bend he married Libby Jester who survives along with a daughter, Patty Godsey (Paul) of South Bend; sons, Rick Larrison (Christy) Keller of TX, Les Prout of Indianapolis, Leif Prout of Gaylord, MI, Lynn Prout (Noke), Larry Prout (Rick Bunch) of South Bend; 11 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; siblings, Betty Howard (Bill) of TX, Robert Larrison (Debbie) of South Bend and Jim Larrison (Jackie) of Coppell, TX.

Dick graduated from the former Washington-Clay High School in 1946.

After graduation he began working for the Ries Furniture Co. and retired after 30 years' service. He began his political career as a County Councilman in 1969 and in 1971 he was appointed as a County Commissioner serving for 28 years. He was a member of Portage Lodge #675 F&AM, Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend.

Masonic services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday in the Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 30, 2012 in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Rd. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family Sunday from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association or the American Liver Foundation.
