ARMEDA L. (CARLTON) MCDONALD

Armeda L. McDonald Dec. 25, 1937 - Aug. 27, 2015 SOUTH BEND - Armeda L. McDonald, 77, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Creekside Village in Mishawaka. Armeda was born on December 25, 1937 in South Bend to Glen and Grace (Toner) Carlton.

She graduated from Washington Clay High School in 1956.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Eleanor Lewis and brother, Ralph Carlton.

She worked at The South Bend Dental Laboratory and later at Central Dental Laboratory in Phoenix. On January 12, 1974, she married Earl "Bud" McDonald. He preceded her in death on March 30, 1996.

Surviving are her daughters, Kim Dallum of Broomfield, Colorado, Kristina Willborn of Michigan City, and Kelli Claffey Brown of Granger; step- daughters, Julie Jones (Rusty) and Sherri Walsh (Tom) both of Granger, 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Armeda enjoyed nothing more than an evening of playing cards with friends or square dancing with Earl, which they began while living in Phoenix. Their dancing also allowed her to design beautiful square dance clothes for the many festivals they attended. Family, friends, camping and crafting filled her days, as well as the love and companionship of the little dogs she adopted along the way. Most importantly, throughout her life she taught her girls strength, independence, and resourcefulness.

A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior, on Saturday, September 12th at Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. To leave the family an online condolence, please visit our website at www.hahnfuneralhomes.com.
