DONNA G. POTTS

Sept. 12, 1934 - March 14, 2009
SOUTH BEND - Donna G. Potts, 74, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of March 14th in Huntington Manor, Poway, CA. Donna was born in South Bend, IN, on September 12, 1934. She was the oldest of three daughters born to Louis and Grace (Wilson) Tooper.

She graduated from Washington Clay High School in 1952, from Holy Cross Nursing School in 1955, and received her M.S. in nursing from Indiana University in 1963.

On November 18, 1961, she married E. James "Jim" Potts. They moved to San Diego, CA, in 1963. They enjoyed 47 wonderful years of marriage, traveled the world, making their home for the past 25 years in Rancho Bernardo. Donna was preceded in death by her husband, mother, father and sister (Sandra Johnson. Surviving are a sister, Kathy (Jake) Herma of Kouts, IN; nieces, Mary Shindollar of South Bend and Beth (Homer) Haughey of Escondido, CA; and many other truly beloved nieces and nephews. Donna was a member of St. Michael's Parish in Poway, CA.

A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. April 3rd in St. Matthew's Catholic Church, South Bend. Her ashes will be interred alongside her husband at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Donna was cared for lovingly during the past months of her life by many kind caregivers of Huntington Manor and Silverado Hospice of San Diego County. Donna's family wishes to thank all the wonderful friends and family for their visits, devotion, prayers and kindness during her illness.
