Donald William Brown

Donald W. Brown

Donald W. Brown, 78, a lifelong resident of South Bend and a well-known member of the community, passed away peacefully on Tuesday November 5, 2024, at the Center for Hospice-Raclin House.

Donald was born on February 27, 1946, in South Bend to the late Charles and Marie (Bell) Brown. Being born with dwarfism, Donald faced many challenges but never let any of them slow him down. He graduated from Clay High School and went into the barber profession, working for over 50 years.

Donald was known by so many. He could go on vacation and see people who he knew and those who cared for him. He was active, enjoyed biking, golf, playing racquetball, waterski, ski the Rockies, and sail. He loved to play “pick up” games of basketball and softball with his brothers on Sunday afternoons. Donald enjoyed traveling to Aruba, Vegas, and anywhere else he could go. He never let anything slow him down and showed everyone that there was nothing that he couldn’t do.

Donald will be deeply missed by his siblings; Donna Klapp and Milton Brown, his many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. Also surviving are so many childhood and adulthood friends that Donald sustained throughout his life.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents; Charles and Marie Brown, and his siblings; James Brown and Richard “Corky” Brown.

Visitation for Donald will be held form 3pm-7pm on Sunday November 10, 2024, at the Palmer Funeral Home inside the Palmer Community Complex, 601 N. Michigan St. Lakeville.
