HARMON W. ARNOLD

BUCHANAN - Harmon W. Arnold passed away on August 25 in Buchanan Meadows. He was 92. Harmon was born March 23, 1918 to Walter R. and Clara H. Arnold, who were longtime South Bend/Roseland residents.

Preceding him in death were his wife of 60 years, Marjorie Grace (Padgett); and a sister, Gertrude Anne Lee of Destin, FL. He is survived by sons, Joel Walter Arnold of Dayton, OH, and Jon Harmon (Carol) Arnold of South Bend, IN; daughter, Jill Anne (Raymond) Dacey of Moscow, ID; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Harmon graduated from Washington Clay High School in 1934 and Purdue University in 1938.

He served in the US Army during WWII as Ordinance Officer attached to the Air Corps integrating ordinance on the A-26. He achieved the rank of Major. Harmon spent 18 years with the Studebaker/Packard Corp, reaching the position of Chief Engineer of the Automotive Division; then served for 17 years as Chief Engineer of Fex-O-Lators, Inc. in Carthage, MO. He also held several patents from both his military service and his civilian careers. The family would like to thank the staff of Buchanan Meadows for their exceptional care. There are no services planned.
