Mr. Ronald Eugene Cole, 43, beloved husband, father, son and brother, who resided at 4406 Hickory Road, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away as a result of an automobile accident on Friday, Jan. 23, at Memorial Hospital. On Aug. 8, 1954, in South Bend, Ind., he was born to the union of L.C. and Arvlee (Hart) Cole.

He graduated from Indiana State University, Terre Haute, Ind., in 1976, and also attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Nev., and Chaffey College, Alto Loma, Calif., where he served as a youth counselor, and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Phsi Fraternity. On Aug. 29, 1983, in Las Vegas, he was united in wedlock to Angela Cowmans.

From 1979 to 1983, Ronald served his country in the United States Air Force. He acted as a greeter for the VIP personnel at his military base, where he accommodated former President, George Bush. Upon discharge from the Air Force, he received the Certificate of Achievement award.

In 1984, he moved to California, where he received the Golden Apple award, from the Los Angeles County Office of Education, and the 1995 Customer Service award, from the Nordstrom Corp. He returned to South Bend in September 1997. He was employed by the South Bend Community School Corp. as a teacher at Clay Middle School. At the time of his death, Ronald was pursuing a masters degree in education at Bethel College.

Ronald leaves to mourn his loss and cherish his memory, his wife, Angela; a daughter, Latisha Cole of Atlanta, Ga.; four sons, Roderick Cole of Los Angeles, Calif., Ryan Cole , Renaul Cole and Randolph Cole , all of Atlanta, Ga.; his father, L.C. Cole of Chicago, Ill., his stepmother, Roselyn Cole of Indianapolis, Ind.; a sister, Phyllis Cole of South Bend; a brother, Larry Cornelius Cole of Indianapolis; a stepbrother, Brett Cole of Indianapolis; his grandmother, Claudia Smith of South Bend; and by a special friend, Giovanna Edwards; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

His mother, Arvlee Cole preceded him in death in 1961.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Tuesday at St. Paul Bethel Baptist Church, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Alford's Mortuary.
