SOUTH BEND, IN - Jack Eugene Stone, 87, of South Bend died at 1:50 a.m. Wednesday, September 26 in Memorial Hospital. Jack was born September 2, 1931 in South Bend to the late Wanda (Weise) and Aubrey Stone and was a lifetime area resident.

On March 22, 1971 he married Lois Duffey who survives. Also surviving are his sons, Dave Stone of Costa Mesa, CA, Robert Stone (Roxanne) of South Bend, and Tom Stone (Becky) of Trenton, MI; daughter, Erin Hannan of Rochester, NY; six grandchildren, Nicole Siefried (Kevin), Hannah Benevides (Nick), Jeremiah Stone (Kristen Bryant), Sara Liechty, Maribeth Childs (Anthony), and Jake Stone; 11 great-grandchildren, John, Matthew, Rebecca, Jessica, Aaron, Savannah, Brielle, Grace, Luke, Jace, and Vincent; and two sisters, Judy Boyd of Sorrento, FL and Donna Hobbs of Lady Lake, FL.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Beth Anne Stone; daughter-in-law, Laurie Stone; and brothers, Larry, Lee, and Keith Stone.

Jack retired from First Source Bank as a Loan Officer. He had also served as Assistant Director of Stadium Personnel at the University of Notre Dame. He was always involved in his children's sports endeavors for many years. He was a lifelong Cubs, Bears, and Notre Dame fan.

Jack was a long time member of St. Joseph Lodge #45 F & AM of which he was a Past Master, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend of which he served as Thrice Potent Master and received the honor of being nominated a 33rd Degree Mason. He was a member of Orak Shrine Temple, and the former South Bend Shrine Club of which he was a Past President. He was also a member and Past President of the Mishawaka Evening Exchange Club and a founding member of the Mishawaka Breakfast Exchange Club.

A Masonic Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 29 in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. A Funeral Service will immediately follow with Rev. Don Neely officiating. Cremation will follow. The family will receive friends on Saturday in the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 3:00.
