James E. DeVon, a/k/a Jukin Jim, went to be with the Lord on February 18, 2025.

He was born on May 13, 1937 in Sikeston, Missouri. He was the son of Verland and Elizabeth Simmons DeVon. The oldest of seven children including Tom, Dave, Larry, Linda, Dale, and Wayne.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1956. He was stationed in Kaiserslautern, Germany, where he met and married Waltraud (Trudy) Biehl and they had four children, James (Jill), Diane, Kurt (Sandy), and Renee’ (Jeff). Later in life he married the love of his life, Linda Haddad. They shared many happy years together before her passing in 2009.

He was a career electronic technician, started Ra-Comm, Inc. in Lafayette, Indiana, in 1971 and continued his radio career with other shops over the years. After his retirement he started a new career as “Jukin Jim.” He restored and repaired juke boxes and radio boxes. He gave new life to long forgotten boxes. Jim was charismatic and did everything with intensity. He will be remembered for his energy and passion at whatever he was doing. He is survived by his children, Jim, wife, Jill, Diane, Kurt, wife, Sandy, and Renee’, husband Jeff, grandchildren, Emily DeVon, Jordan DeVon, Brandon Carpenter, Amanda Krause, Holly Light, Katherine Ehrenberg, Kasey Massey, Jessica Villegas, and preceded in death by Danail Frey, great grandchildren, Sebastian, Vivian, Evelyn, Paige, Parker, Griffin, Jasmine, Nathan, Jesse, and Liam. He will be greatly missed by all.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
