James Michael Leblang

SOUTH BEND - James M. Leblang, 61, formerly of South Bend, Indiana and Hartford, Michigan, and most recently a resident of Canton, Mississippi, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2017, at Ochsner Medical Center, Main Campus, New Orleans, Louisiana, surrounded by his family, from complications after an organ transplant.
James was born January 10, 1956, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Bernard and Ruth (Fischesser) Leblang. James served his country in the United States Navy, Submarine force. On May 31, 1986, James married Suzanne (Wyckoff), who survives. He was preceded in death by his parents; & 3 brothers, Richard, Eugene and Bernard Leblang Jr.
Survivors include his son, Joshua (Adrianna) of Paw Paw, Michigan, and daughter, Rachel Leblang of Raleigh, North Carolina; brothers, Frank (Linda), Mark (Laura), and John (Tina); and sister, Mary Ford. In addition, James is survived by his father-in-law, Robert Wyckoff of Niles, Michigan.
James loved spending time with his family and friends, gardening and traveling, especially to warm locations and beaches.
Cremation has taken place. A Catholic Mass will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church on SR 933 in South Bend, Indiana, on December 16, 2017, at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ochsner Clinic Foundation, Greg Smith Transplant Patient Assistance Fund, #861011033, 1514 Jefferson Highway, Philanthropy Department, BH#607, New Orleans, LA 70121.
