DECATUR, MI - Kathy Jo Britton, age 61, of Decatur, MI, passed away Monday, April 4, 2016, at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo, MI, following a brief illness.

She was born February 5, 1955, in Mishawaka, IN, the daughter of Paul H. and Norma Jean (DeMeyer) Ryll. On April 1, 1978, in Mishawaka, IN, she married Jerry Britton, who survives.

Kathy had a lifelong love of Notre Dame athletics, especially the football team, playing cards with family and spending time with her grandchildren whom she dearly loved. She also had a love of animals and pets, especially her cat, Sammie.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Jerry; two daughters, Angie (Ed) Asmus of Vandalia, MI, and Tracy (Efrim) Johnson of Elkhart, IN; grandchildren, Bailey and Abigail Asmus, and Alexus and Levi Johnson; one brother, Rick Ryll (Janeen); and her Aunt Aggie Coddens; nieces & nephew, Melissa (Devon) Edwards, Katie Champion, Zachary Ryll (Danielle); two brothers-in-law, Bob (Sun) Britton and Terry Britton; and sister-in-law, Cheryl Bragg. She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 P.M. Thursday, April 7, 2016, at the Mater-Ralston Funeral Home, Marcellus. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Friday, April 8, 2016, in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery.
