CAROL ANN SCHUELKE
December 24, 1934 – June 25, 2024
ELKHART- Carol Ann Schuelke, 89, of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday June 25, 2024, at the Center for Hospice Care Esther’s House in Elkhart. She was born December 24, 1934, in South Bend, Indiana to Ira & Pearl (Pruett) Church.
Carol graduated from Clay High School in South Bend in 1953. She married Alex Berta in 1953 and had 5 children, Pam (Jim) DeCamp, Linda (Tom) Gibson, Connie Scantland, Dennis (Helen) Berta, and Douglas Berta. She married Robert Schuelke in 1973 and he preceded her in death in 1987. He had 4 children. Carol has numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister Sharol Lee Hostetter. She was preceded in death by a brother Donald E. Church and a sister, Betty Sternat.
Carol retired in 1999 from CTS Corporation after 34 years of service. She loved her family, was a world traveler, enjoyed music, reading, bowling, and playing cards. Carol was a member of the Quarter Century Club at CTS and a member of the Moose Lodge since 1976.
Cremation will take place and a graveside service for Carol will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola at 11:00 a.m. on Friday July 5, 2024. Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home is entrusted with her care.
Memorial contributions may be given to The Center for Hospice Care or to the Elkhart County Humane Society.
