Debra "Debbie" Lee Thomas

Debra L. Thomas, of South Bend, passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center at the age of 67.
 

She was born on April 9, 1954 in South Bend to the late Theodore Dylewski and Charlotte (Fell) Burket. On December 3, 2005 in South Bend Deb married her best friend, who she met when she was 16 years old, Robbie M. Thomas, who survives.

Debra worked at the Juvenile Justice Center as a secretary, but her most important job was being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, kids, and grandchildren. She loved spending time making different art projects with them. She also had a love of her dogs, especially her pet chihuahua, Teto.

Debra is survived by her husband, Robbie, and daughters, Sheila (Bobby) Clark of South Bend, Dawn (Charles) Koecke of Mishawaka, and Angela (Aaron) Grooms of Mishawaka, along with 9 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her siblings, Ted (Sherri Cortland) Dylewski of Florida, Penny Peppers (Johnny Cotton) of South Bend, Lori Kelly of South Bend, Kim Hoffman of South Bend and Doug (Dawn) Burket of Mishawaka. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Brittney Ness and sister, Denise Bland.

Services for Debra will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Palmer Funeral Home – Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main St. Mishawaka, IN 46545. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. Graveside service and burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery.
