Ricky Hoover
March 13, 1958 ~ April 9, 2025
Ricky was born on March 13, 1958 to Alice E. Hoover and Harvey H. Hoover, Sr. in South Bend, IN. (known as Dog Patch). He attended Clay High until Junior year. Ricky loved old cars and last year he purchased a 1962 Chevrolet 4 door hardtop that he, brother Tim and friend Josh were tearing apart and rebuilding. He couldn’t wait for it to be finished so he could drive it around and show it off. Now he will be watching from Heaven as his brother, Tim, will be doing that for him.
Ricky is predeceased by his parents; brothers Harvey Jr., Bill, Russell, Kevin, and John and both sets of grandparents and all aunts and uncles except for one aunt. He is survived by his sister, Cindy Francis (Terry), brothers Timothy and Michael (Fran) and 35 nieces and nephews and his best friend, Fred Singleton.
Ricky was a quiet person basically. He had struggled with some habits earlier in life that made his life later on somewhat difficult health wise. But all in all, he was a good guy. And he loved scratch off tickets. He could sit and do scratch offs all day if he could. He hit once in a while but I’m sure he bought more than he won! We are going to miss him!
Per his wishes, he has been cremated. Palmer Funeral Homes on Cleveland Road, South Bend has taken care of arrangements for Ricky.
There will be a Memorial Dinner Sunday, April 27th at the home that Ricky and Tim bought together- 60987 Co. Road 15 and Co. Road 28, Elkhart, IN at 4:00 p.m. Side dishes and desserts are welcome.
