SOUTH BEND - Robert G. Bottorff, 55, of South Bend, passed away Thursday, November 4, 2010, in Memorial Hospital. Bobby was born May 29, 1955, in Mishawaka.

He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Bottorff. Robert is survived by his mother, Irene Bottorff of South Bend; brothers, Harold and Andrew Hahn; a sister, Nancy Hahn Querry; five nieces and nephews; and eight great-nieces and nephews. Bobby had many friends, and always had a smile for everyone he met. He was blessed with three mothers, Irene, Sophie and Norma, all of whom he took out for dinner together on Mother's Day. Big Bobby was a generous, kind man, who was always there if needed. He became a child when around other children.

He worked as a massage therapist, realtor and a nurse. Cooking was his expertise. He was a man of many trades. Bobby lived a very adventurous life, living 20 years in Key West, FL. He loved new experiences, traveling, kayaking, the ocean, and had a love for nature. Wherever Bob was, there was laughter and joy. He will be missed by so many people who loved him, especially his greatest companion, his dog, "Miles."

Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 20, 2010, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., with Chaplain Bridget Smith officiating. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to services. Burial will be held at Saint Joseph Valley Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
