Jennifer A.Zelmer, 44, of St. Joseph, Mich., went to meet her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 20, in her home. A Celebration of Life Service will be heldat 8:30 a.m.Friday in the First Church of God, 2627 Niles Ave., St.Joseph.Graveside services will follow at noon at St.Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger, Ind.Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m.Thursday in Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Road, St.Joseph.

Memorials may be made to the Berrien County Cancer Service or to Hospice at Home.Those wishing to share a memory or sign the guestbook online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com. Jennifer was born Jan.13, 1960, in South Bend, Ind., to William and Barbara (Reser) Hatfield. She graduated from Clay High School in 1978.

On Sept.12, 1981, Jennifer married Allen Zelmer in South Bend.She graduated in 1987 from Western Michigan University with a bachelor’s degree in marketing. Jennifer loved children and had a passion to serve her Lord.She was a member of the First Church of God where she had served as a Sunday School teacher and pastor of children’s ministry.

Jennifer is survived by her husband, Allen;two sons, Jareth and Justin Zelmer, both at home;her parents, William and Barbara Hatfield of South Bend;a sister, Elizabeth (John) Grinslade of Greentown, Ind.; two brothers, William (Patty) Hatfield of South Bend, and Robert Hatfield and his fiancée, Cheryl Harris of South Bend;Allen’s parents, Norman and Rita Zelmer of Bridgman, Mich.; and by Allen’s brothers and sisters and spouses.
