Jean Marie (Lechlitner) Haines

Jean Marie "MAW" Haines, 81 of Edwardsburg passed peacefully to her rest at home on June 6th, 2023. She was born on June 29th, 1941 in South Bend, Indiana to the late George and Ethel (Born) Lechlitner. In March of 1961 she married Gene Haines in Cassopolis, Michigan.

Maw worked in the meat department at Harding's Market in Edwardsburg for over 30 years. She made many friends there, being a co-worker or just a patron passing through.

Maw enjoyed bowling, golfing, Nascar, and loved to watch professional wrestling. One of her favorite things to do was watch her children in their sports activities during their school years.

Later in life when she became a grandmother and a great-grandmother, was the most cherished time in her life. Her sense of humor and a song for everything will be remembered by all that knew her.

Maw is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline (Tim) Reardon, her granddaughter Kara (William) Haines and her other grandchildren, Heather and Matthew Reardon. She has three great granddaughters; Andie, Katie and Stevie and two other great-grandchildren; Payton and Gabriella.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gene, her beloved son Stephen, her parents George and Ethel and her brothers; Roland, Jackie and Jerry Lechlitner.

There are no services at this time. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.

Arrangements are by the Paul E, Mayhew Funeral Home, Edwardsburg.
