Deshawn Robert Marable
June 4, 1981 ~ February 12, 2024 (age 42)
Deshawn Robert Marable, known fondly as "Shawn", "Poo Butt", "Dungeon", and "Skillet" to those who held him dear, has departed from this life too soon. Born June 4, 1981, in South Bend, Indiana, he lived vibrantly. His infectious laughter and compassionate heart touched all who knew him, leaving an irreplaceable mark on their lives. As a family comedian, his funny and resilient spirit created countless cherished memories that will continue to bring joy to his loved ones.
Deshawn was a man of many talents and known for many different things. He had an exceptional grade of hair and adopted the nickname Skillet because of the excessive amount of grease used. Shawn was dedicated to whatever roles he held at work which were evident in his roles at Hacienda where he was named Employee of the Month, and at McDonalds where he was promoted to Manager. But Deshawn's talents extended beyond the workforce. He had a natural rhythm that shone brightly when he played the drums. He was also a talented basketball player with an unorthodox jump shot and a beloved friend to many. His faith was a work in progress as he had plans to join the Christian Center Church and be baptized.
Despite his many accomplishments, what mattered most to Deshawn was his family. He cherished time spent with his loved ones, often while watching a good movie and a plate of delicious food. After such indulgence he could be found sleeping peacefully. Deshawn's fierce love for his mother was well known, and she held a strong, special and irreplaceable place in his heart. He shared a unique bond with his daughter Ashia and baby brother Patrick, who he knew would always have his back no matter what. His family will always remember his unwavering love for them.
Deshawn is survived by his wife, Autumn Marable; his parents, Michael Marable and Regina Lowery; his siblings, Patrick Fleming and Mike Marable; his children, Ashia and Anthony Marable; his grandchildren, Aleah Johnson and Aliyjah Washington; his niece and nephews, Malia Fleming, Trayvon Fleming, and Jayden Fleming; and his uncles, Steven Marable and Robert Marable; his grandmothers, Diane Lowery and Janice Marable.
He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Robert and Edner Randolph; his uncle, Richard Marable; and his grandfather, Robert Marable.
