Martha J. (Trowbridge) Finn

Martha Jean Finn, 72, of South Bend, died Monday, Oct. 7, 1996, in Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Finn retired Jan. 30, 1990, from South Bend Community School Corporation as a secretary after 20 years. She was born June 15, 1924, in South Bend. On Jan. 28, 1945, in Bertrand, Mich., as Martha J. Trowbridge, she married Robert E. Finn of South Bend, who survives along with a daughter, Cynthia J. Thrasher of South Bend; two sons, Robert E. Finn of South Bend and Michael J. Finn of Lewisville, N.C.; to grandchildren, Steven, Shannon, Brandon, Erin, Jennifer, Matthew, Joshua, Andrew Finn and Krystal and Sarah Thrasher.; a sister, Marion Harwood of Casa Grande, Ariz.; three brothers, James Trowbridge of Cambridge, Wis., Walter and Donald Trowbridge, both of South Bend. One daughter, Carol J. Barrett preceded her in death in October, 1985.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, at Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., South Bend, Ind. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Association or River Park United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Finn was a member of River Park United Methodist Church and a member of the choir. She was also an avid golfer.
